Liberty’s VIP Hard Hat Dinner
Liberty hosted a ‘Hard Hat Dinner’ for a specially selected group of opinion formers to share thoughts on the Liberty Renaissance store refresh with the Directors of the Company. The theme was black and white to keep in with the zebra motif, as you can see from the photos the 1st floor Womenswear floor was transformed into a decadent dining room for the evening.
Kate Brindley, the Head of Press organised the event and told us all about it; “In order to launch the message of the renaissance I came up with the idea of holding a ‘hard hat’ dinner for key industry opinion formers and press.
I worked with an interior stylist called Finola Inger who works with people such as Elle Deco and Sunday Times Style to create a beautiful oasis area within the Creative Labels area of the store. This area of the store is one of the last to be done in the Renaissance so the lavish, beautiful decorative table area was an oxymoron to the raw building site just visible outside it.
The guest list included singer and fashion muse Roisin Murphy, Turner-prize winning artist Grayson Perry, retail consultant Mary Portas, editors such as Claudia Croft (Sunday Times Style), Hilary Alexander (Telegraph), Lucy Yeomans (Harpers Bazaar), Harriet Quick (Vogue) and designers Richard Nicoll, Peter Pilotto, Nicholas Kirkwood and Tom Dixon.
The guests all arrived and enjoyed a champagne reception in our Style Service area. We set up a photo booth in the Atelier dressing room which the guests all had fun in horsing round with Shaniqwa Jarvis the portraiture photographer we hired for the evening.
Guests then enjoyed personal tours of the new areas of the store that were complete which included the bazaar, second and third floors. Geoffroy then gave a speech detailing the Liberty Renaissance. It was great to get feedback from our guests on what they thought of our work in progress, all agreed that the refresh is an exciting step for Liberty going forward into the next decade.”
