*SCARF OF THE WEEK*
This week’s scarf of the week is the ‘Painted Eagle Scarf’ by Givenchy. Immediately noticeable is the visually gratifying print – featuring an eagle mid-flight and, even larger, the head of an eagle. Crafted from 100% silk.
Givenchy, the French fashion house, was founded in 1952 by Hubert de Givenchy and can reel off a list of celebrities and icons as its patrons. In more recent years, however, the brand as we understand it today has taken shape – due to the previous involvement of designers such as John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and Julian McDonald; and since 2005 Richard Tisci has been the Creative Director.
So, it’s no surprise, with the cumulative influence of those designers, that we have some seriously rock n’roll accessories. This scarf is a prime example – leading the trend for producing edgy prints on luxurious materials. Wear it with attitude, draped over a vest or bundled up with a leather jacket.
