The Liberty girls had the pleasure of taking a tour of the Ron Falloon exhibition on the fourth floor with the photographer himself! Ron was in store to meet an old friend and ex-model Dona Evans (nee McDonough), who is perhaps best known as the first Cadbury Flake Girl. The two haven’t seen each other for over forty years, and reminisced over tea in Café Liberty. Dona brought along these fantastic playing cards, made by her agency in the sixties. She and Ron discussed how things have changed in the industry since then – from models doing their own hair, make-up and styling to the difficulty of achieving a perfect photograph without the aid of airbrushing.

Ron showed us his favourite prints from the exhibition, which runs until the 22nd August, and includes unpublished pictures of Jean Shrimpton and Marianne Faithful. Each print is original, and a unique piece of fashion history.

Visit the Ron Falloon Exhibition on Liberty’s Fourth Floor until 22nd August.
