Give us a P for Pilotto!
The ever beautiful Yasmin Le Bon and daughter Amber
Our very own Kate Brindley with Peter Pilotto and Jason Caine
The Pilotto boys, Anouck Lepere and Mike Figgis.
Guests included Yasmin and Amber Le Bon (the nicest and most beautiful mother/daughter duo I have had the pleasure of meeting in a very long time), Jefferson Hack; publisher and partner of Anouck, Mike Figgis; British film maker, Rosey Chan; classical pianist, Natalie Wansbrough-Jones; Elle’s senior fashion editor, Richard Mortimer; editor of Ponystep.com, Emma Elwick; fashion writer at Vogue, Melanie Rickey; fashion-editor-at-large of Grazia, and model Jade Parfitt who filmed the event for Vogue TV – see here for the link http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/daily/100122-peter-pilotto-dinner-at-liberty.aspx.
All the guests met and congregated in our Style Service suite for lashings of Billecart Salmon rose champagne and to trade gossip. CEO Geoffroy de La Bourdonnaye then led the way up to the heritage suite – a beautiful mahogany panelled room tucked away in the heart of the store that used to be founder Arthur Liberty’s boardroom – for the dinner itself. The menu was the ultimate in January comfort food (to hell with detoxing!) with everyone tucking into Lancashire hot pot and red wine and then a special surprise dessert of choux pastry swans stuffed with air whipped vanilla cream that Anouck created (with a little help from Liberty’s head chef) in homage to her native Belgium where they are a tradition. Peter and Christopher; the Peter Pilotto designers were overwhelmed and delighted at all the support and also love seeing the guests all wearing their designs.
No one was more beautiful than Anouck in her hazy watercolour ombré print dress with corset detailing and cut out panelling across the rib cage. She confessed to me that having spent Christmas and New Year wafting round in kaftans on a beach in Kenya it was strange to be back in form fitting clothes initially but as Peter Pilotto designs are so effortless she was her resplendent supermodel self the second the zip was done up.
