Jewellery Month Shines at Liberty

Exhibiting their autumn winter 2008 collections, showcasing specially-created pieces and answering all youZEBRA ever wanted to know about to know about gold and gems, five designers open their trinket boxes of knowledge every weekend throughout November at Liberty for Jewellery Month.

In good time for the preparation of Christmas party looks, each of the designers will be available to advise on how to wear both classic and on-trend pieces from their collections – such as this season’s statement necklaces and cocktail rings – whether on costume or fine jewellery.

Additionally, Liberty of London will be launching its new, gothic-inspired jewellery collection – by creative director Tamara Salman – in an eclectic mix of metals and semi-precious materials.

Jewellery Month kicks off on November 1st/2nd with Zebra. Meticulous in the attention to detail so renowned in the craftsmanship of Italian design (homeland of Zebra), the simple, timeless appeal of monochrome is created in the form of black and white precious stones – diamonds, fresh water pearls, onyx, white agate, mother of pearl and rubber – set in 18-carat white gold.

monica-vinaderOn the 8th/9th of November we welcome Monica  Vinader to the store. From cultural extremes, such as Mexico and South America, Monica creates and absorbs stories and adventures on her travels and revisits them at her rural Norfolk studio to develop ultra-sophisticated, semi-precious pieces with hints of extravagance.

Erickson Beamon 15th/16th November.  The magpie-like attraction to all things sparkly served not only as a draw to the bright lights of NYC for Vicki Beamon and Karen Erickson, but later manifested again in the form of crystals and beads on their signature jewellery designs.

On the 22nd/23rd November Liberty opens it’s doors to Isharya.  Taking inspiration from cultural and artistic references, Isharya delivers bold, statement pieces that fully embody the collection themes with a truly feminine hand, applied by the design duo behind the label, to create detailed, intricate beauty in their work.

Liberty of LondonAlex Monroe is a firm favourite with visitors to Liberty and will be featured on 29th/30th November. With an ever-present appreciation for the simple beauty of nature in his work, Alex Monroe’s designs exude delicate femininity and charm, captured over the last twenty years in gold plate and silver.

We’re also extremely excited about the launch of the Liberty of London jewellery range on the 26th November. Giving nature an ethereal twist, creative director Tamara Salman launches a gothic-inspired Liberty of London jewellery collection that takes the wearer on a magical journey through a world of flora and fauna adorned with bug creatures in agate, onyx and labradorite combine with cubic zirconia, Swarovski crystal and marcasite.

Liberty Gift Coins – the Currency of Luxury

Posted on 27/10/08, filed under News | No Comments

The Currency of LuxuryStyle, distinctiveness and elegance have always been hallmarks of Liberty.  This Christmas season, give the gift of luxury with Liberty Gift Coins.  Ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas giving, or just a special present for that special person.  Liberty Gift Coins were launched in 1998 and have proved extremely popular.  They are available in four denominations - £10, £25, £50 and £100 – and you can purchase whatever mix you require.

Specially commissioned by Liberty, the coins took about three months to design and produce at the Royal Mint.  Our distinctive Liberty Gift Coins come beautifully packaged in a purple Liberty pouch, and can be spent throughout the store on anything from the latest season’s fashion collections to distinctive and contemporary furniture.

The £50 Gold Liberty Gift CoinMuch more impressive and substantial than printed paper vouchers (although you can get those too at Liberty) the Gift Coins have an intrinsic, aesthetic and actual value.  The copper coloured £10 coin, silver effect £25 coin, gold £50 coin and the platinum £100 coin show that you really have put some thought into a gift voucher purchase.  In fact they are so beautifully packed and presented that you might not want to redeem them at all!

But don’t worry! You can keep your Liberty Gift Coins as long as you like because they do not have an expiry date and can be redeemed at any till point throughout the store.    If you do use your gift coins in store, any change value over £10 will be given as further gift vouchers.  Any change under £10 will be given in genuine coin of the realm – more practical perhaps but we think maybe not as stylish as the Liberty Gift Coin!
